'That was a wonderful sermon delivered last night at the
First Methodist church by Inez Bower, the 12-year-old child
preacher, who is certainly entitled to be called the world's
pulpit phenomena, Late in the afternoon her mother wired
that Inez would not be well enough to preach, A lady on the
committee who believes in prayer , wired back that they
would ask for divine help, Inez arrived with her mother on
a late tra-n, and was not well until 10 minutes before leav
ing the House to go to the church, She ate no supper,
"but asked permission to go to her room and engage in prayer,
-With that bVief preparation, and she- never has any other,
.she delivered a remarkable sermon on the subject of "Power"
that was entirely extemporaneous, and many in the audience
declared that it was equal to anything in that line that had
been done by Dean Kimball of the theological seminary, The
little girl had. the biggest audience ever assembled in the
First church, Chairs, benches and tables were carried in
for people to sit upon, all the standlng'room was taken and
hundreds were turned away,
