There will be something doing every minute of each day dur ing tho carnival. A big dol6gatlon from Portland is coming down on a special train next Saturday and tho visitors will be royally ente'rtalne'd by the people of Salem. Tho sub scription commlttco is out to day, and will raise $300 additional money for the reception of tho guests and for other features' made possible by tho postponement of the Cherry Fair. Tho Chorry Fair committee will serid threo or four hundred pounds of Royal Anno cherries to Portland next Tuesday to bo prosontcd to tho Portland delegation at dinner at tho Commercial club. The Salem Military band will fur nl'h music throughout the threo days of tho carnival. Tho sum of $100 has been set aside for music. Tho band will bo paid $150 for tho threo days provided sufllclcnt re ceipts aro taken In at tho carnival at tractions by tho commltteo; If not the band boys aro willing to tako le33.
