Alexander Graham Bell's new areo
plaae. the "Red Wing." had Its Ini
tial teat. The aeroplane, after glid
ing 'over the Ice on Lake Kouka for
200 feet, roso gently to a height ot
about 10 feet and sailed at that ele
vation for a distance ot about 300
feet, maintaining a speed ot from 35
to 35 mllea an hour. Part ot the
machinery then gave way and the
aoroplaue was then brought dawn for
repair.
