Tho asylum bonrd hns Instructed that nn Inventory be made of the ar tlcle3 brought In' by tho Insane nt tho tlmo of their arrival, which hns been Btorcd In tho 'jrorret of that in stltutlon and some of which has boon ithera for 20 years, the owners of which havo been, doad for a long time. Thero aro stored away In tho gar ret of tho asylfltm more than a hun dred trunks and about 300 valises and different styles of cases. Of these, tho owners of 50 of tho cases and 30 of tho trunks aro dond. The trunks are of all stylos and kinds; In size from tho midget child's trunk to tho mammoth slzo usually I tiBed more for tho storing away of goods rather than for tho moving of thorn. There aro trunks which aro Bd, by courtosy only, having boon originally Ice-chorts, ogg-crntes and various othor klndB of cases, Out. which tho Ingonutty of the owner has transformed Into somo kind of re ceptacle for clothing. Ono Is nblo to fairly woll deduct tho causo which placed tho unfor tunntos In tho asylum by a glance through these trunks.' Here a trunk almost flllod with bibles makes It plain thnt tho person who owned it, beenmo mentally unbalanced because of rollgloiis forvor. Another, from which sovernl hypodermic syringes and needles rolled, as it was turnod over, told only too plainly tho truth that tho ono to whom they belonged hnd lost hla reason through tho uso of morphine and othor "d,opo." Somo, of course, havo thoir afflictions which do not appear In their belongings, or porhnps do appear In a peculiar man ner, but which tho ordinary observor is unablo to judge. Among tho clothing of ono of tho unfortunato In mates was found a wrapper roado of thousands of different colored cloths. Anothor kept her clothing stuffed with hundrods of plccos of torn dresses. It hns boon decided that tho cloth ing bolng wasted by bolng stored away shall now bo put to somo use. Tho inmntos will bo clothed in such garments as they bring with thorn into tho institution, and that which Is still serviceable and tho ownora of which have died or loft tho asy lum, will be given to tho othor pa tients. A groat quantity of tho .trunks and cases, which aro falling apart from woar and old age, are to bo destroy ed after they havo been passed upon by tho board. A Romance lit Brief. "Lovera once, but strangers now," sighed tho romantic one. ' "Married?" Inquired his practlcat friend.
