The Eu gene & Eastern Railway Company Monday afternoon started a corps of surveyors to make the preliminary survey for an electric lino north from Eugene to connect with tho Salem Portlantl lino, for which another crow of surveyors Is working soufn from Albany. Tho proposed line will extend north from Eugene to Junc tion along what Is knovn as the "river road," which traverses one of the richest stretches of country In tho world. It Is along the river bot tom, and the soil raises some of the finest fruit and vegetables that grow.
