It is known that the Gould interests ar baildiag a road from Utah to California, parallelling the Southern Pacific, asd coming to the California line only a Iff miles north of Beno. The same combination has a line rnn Bing from Reno north in Modoc county and it is possible that tke same inter ests are bekisd this plan. While tkis may be only a "paper road," the incorporators evidently ex pect at least to get some fun out of it. as they put up over $300 in the coin of the realm to pay the state of Oregon for the incorporation pape-s. o Cheerfully Becoamended for Bheoma. tism, ' 0. Unless something entirely un fraa oeears to preveat, Mr. Tiffany says 'here is no doubt whatever of the work being done. Ties and rails have been strung as far as Highland, and grading ha been done considerably farther. Ia the beginning there was somo difficulty in securing enough men to work as laborers, buf at present the contractor has as many men as can bo worked to advantage. Mr. Tiffany says there a-e a few buildings in tbe way of the work in orth Salem, but thee will be re moved as oon as hou?e movers can be secured. Ia the meantime the work of grading is being done oa either side of tke house. Mea will begin tomorrow to lay the track. This part of the work would have been commenco-l before, but Mr. Tiffany was delayed by having no track gauge. This implement is now here, and the work of laying track will be pushed forward as rapidly as possible. All the work of construction will be groatly expedited when some of te fack is laid, as material can be put in place oa cars instead of having to be hauled by team. Indigestion. With its companions, heart burn, flat ulence, torpidity of the liver, consti pation, palpitation of the heart, poor blood, headache and other nervous symptoms, sallow skin, foul tongue, of fensiva breath aad a legion of other ailments, is at onco the most wide spread and destructive malady among the American people.
