SOCIAL
EVENTS
Peerless Dancing Club.
One of the mon brilliant successes
of the social season was the opening
reception of the Peerless Dancing
Club, given under the direction of
Miss Nettle Frazure, at Tioga hall,
last evening.
The hall was beautifully decorated
In purple and orange crepe pap
draped from the corners, anisl&es of
the room to the centeV ;IntwoJpf the
corners were cleverly arranged cozy
seats, while in ano'her corner, which
was by no means overlooked or forgot
ten, as It proved one of the most re
vlvlng features of the evening, was
the punch bgwi. Here beautirul ferns
had been used to good advantage,
forming a complete bowe'r of green
from which little Miss Alma Oswalt,
daintily gowne3 rin pink,- served the
punch.
The music was furnished by the
McE'roy orchestra, and the numbers
were played with such perfect hnr-
mony that every chair in the hall was
left vacant during their rendition,
while the merry throng glided over
the hall with perfect ease, and en
Joyed the music of the famous orches
tra. The grand march wn3 led by Miss
Frazure and Mr. Otto Miller, and fol
owing came Mlsa Emma Miller and
Mr. Claude Hlbbard. Many pretty
gowns were in evidence, and about 44
couple attended.
It is understood that these club par
ties will be given on Thursday even
Ing of each week, and thU news will
bo welcomed by the lovers of this art
Miss Frazuro will also conduct a
ilaJclrrg academy, and, as she Is a
mest accomplished dancer, will no
doubt have large classes. While she
has only resided In this city for about
two ears, she has scores of friends
who will aid her in making it a suc
cess. Andrews-Slmpklns Wedding.
A very pretty wedding occurred at
the home of Mr. T. W. Andrews, near
Amity, Ore., on October 19, 1904, when
their daughter, Clara, was united in
marriage to Mr. Jesse Slmkins, of
Hopewell, Or.
The bride was attended by Miss
Ida 'M. Gooding, while the bride's
brother, Lesley J. Andrews, supported
tho groom.
The wedding inarch was played by
Mlsii Zoe Miller, of Amity, Or. She
rendered tho march "Teasing Hearts"
In a moit accomplished manner, and
tho bridal party entered and took their
places beneath a large arch of Ivy,
and from which two large hearts of
roses were suspended. The eremony
was performed by Rev. Shepard, of
Zena.
Tho bride wore a handsome dress
of white lansdowne, and carried a
bouquet of white carnations. The
young couple were tho recipients of
many beautiful and valuable presents,
They are spending a short honeymoon
In Dallas, after which they will be at
homo to their friend) at Hopewell,
Or. They have the best wishes 'of
a large circle of friends.
