Erie Klcppin, well-known in this city as a young man who bad his arm shot nearly off nt tho shoulder, and played n cornet for some years in the Salem band, has developed into a comedian of considerable talent, since going with the Sncll-Aldridgo Dramatic Com puuy, which he joined last spring. At first he handled a lantern and did elec tric work, besides playing in tbo band. Then he took some minor parts, and now appears nightly in the regular east as comedian. Tho Oakland Lead er speaks highly of his work in tho part of Squlro Ilipley iu tho "Virginia Landlord," and of his part in "Down In Arkunsus' it says: "Eric Kleppln, as Ike,' who 'wanted u steady job,' brought down the house by his truo do lineation of tho backwoodsman."
