It cures pim ples, boils, eczema, scrofula, sores, ulcers and other consequences of impure blood. "1 feel greatly thankful for what your medicine has done for me," writes Mrs. Chas. Itood, of Kalkaska, Mich. "I suf fered with scrofula of the head for twelve years. Tried every kind of medicine that I heard of but found no cure. Every oue that looked at my head said they never saw anything like It. The last doctor I doctored with before applying to you I pot worse every day, Was so miserable that I was unable to do any work at all. After taking two or three bottles of your 'Golden Medical Dltcovery' and using the local treatment you prescribed for me, I was cured and my head was entirely free from scrofula.'' Salem, August 5, 1904. 8-5-5t USED WRONG FONT Walter Lyons, Pied His Com pany While at a New port Dance For manv j;ears Hon. Waltor Lyons the well known politician and news paperman has visited tho beach at Newport, where with his winning and charming ways he has led the social set. His popularity with the gentler sex Is not on the wane, despite his many pleasant summer vacations, Judging at least from tho tale that is told by returning vacationists. Walter Is very fond of dancing arid always attends the parties at tho New port hall. The other evening ho es corted a young lndy to tho hop and spent a very pleasant time. When the hour to depart arrived Waltor walked over to the lady that ho sup posed was his partner and asked her If she was ready to go home. Of course she said she was and the gal lant scribe wandered forth hand in hand with the lady. Sho suggested another and strange road, in fact Walter did not quite understand tho route but he said nothing and sawed wood. The cottage was reached and at the parting Walter thanked her for tho delightful moments that ho had spent while In her company, when sho asked him what he thought the other girl would do to him when ho met her. The question puzzled tho escort for a time, until It was explained that ho had escorted the wrong girl homo and the ono that had been "nls partner going to the dance had been ruthless ly forsaken at the ball. The mistake, for It was a mistake, was embarrassing, and at least ac counts Walter was putting In most of his spare moments at tho seashore dodging tho Irate young lady that had accompanied him to tho dance. Tho story Is a state secret but It leaked out, via the underground railroad. Found Skull In River. A number of loggers employed by th Spauldlng Logging company while at work on a drive In tho Wlllamotto river at a point opposlto Junction City a few days ago, found a human skull In tho river, and they now have it in their camp a3 an ornament, It Is said. The finding of tho skull causes con jecture as to whore It camo from and what person has drowned In recent years and tho body not recovered. It recalls the fact that somo 12 years ago Mr. Baldwin, whoso widow and daughters now resldo In this city, mys teriously disappeared. His hat was found in tho river bank and ho was supposed to have been drowned but his body was never recovered. If wo remember correctly there have been one or two other drownings In tho river in which case the bodies havo not been recovoied. Kugeno Gunrd. Do It today, The time-worn Injunction, "Never put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today," Is now generally present ed In this ferm: "Do It today!" That Is tho terse advise wo want to give you about that hacking cough or de moralizing cold with which you have been struggling for several days, per baps weeks. Take some rellablo reme dy for it TODAY and let that remedy be Dr. Boschee's Gorman Syrup, which has been in use for over thlrty-flvo years. A fow doses of it wilt undoubt edly relievo your cough or cold, and jits continued use for a fow days will cure you completely. No matter how deep-seated your cough, oven If dredd consumption has attacked your lungs, Gorman Syrup will surely effect a cure as it has done before in thou sands of apparently hopeless cases of lung trouble. New trial bottles, 25c; regular size, 75c. At all druggists. At Dr. Stone's drug stores. t o Divers Supplant Rollers. Frank Albright, residing at Albany, a lad 'of 20 years made a successful dlvo from a ladder 70 feet high Into leB than six feet of wator on last Sunday aftornoon. The laddor was orected In tho mouth of tho Calapoola river, whore It emp ties Into the Willamette at Albany, Its top bolng hlghor than tho floor of the Albany steol bridge. This is the third timo young Al bright has successfully mado the dlvo from, tho top of tho laddor this sum mer.
