PROJECTS Circular in Explana tion of Depart ment Situation in States and Ter ritories for Which Money IS Set Aside-$2, 000, 000 for Oregon Apropos of tho formal approval by tho Secretary of tho Interior of now Irrigation projects under the recla mation law In California, Oregon and tho Daotas, the Interior Department Issued a statement covering the dis position of the reclamation fund, which is, in part as follews: "These approvals mark practically tho closo of tho preliminary or tenta tive stage or reclamation work. The projects in each stato and territory are now well outlined and provisions mado for all of the available funds. "During tho two years which have nearly elapsed since tho passage of the reclamation law, efforts have been concentrated on general examin ations and comparison of tho merits of various projects. Theso have now been selected and approved, contin gent on securing tho water rights and landB at reasonable cost, and perfect ing all details partly completed. Tho situation In each stato and territory is as follews: "Arizona Salt River project, under construction, at estimated cost of about $3,000,000. "California Yuma project, con struction approved by the secretary ut a cost of about $3,000,000. "Colorado Uncompahgro project, Involving an expenditure of $2,000,000, "Idaho Minidoka project, for which about $2,600,000 has been provisionally allotted. "Montana Milk Rver project, gen- oral allotment of. $1,500,000. "Nevada -Truckeo-Carson project, under construction, at a cost of about $3,000,000. "New Mexico Hondo project, at a cost of $350,000. "North Dakotar-Fort Buford pro Joct, taking water from Yollowstono River In Montana,' at a cost of about $1,200,000. "Oregon Mnlhuer project, costing about $2,000,000. "Utah Conservation of water In Utah Lake, at a cost of about $1,000, 000. "Washington The storage and di version of SOBhono River near Cody, for which $2,250,000 has been set aside. "In all, tho projects outlined will coat $27,000,000, and will require for construction two or throe years.
