H0PMEN FEEL ELATED Krebs Bros. Sold One Large Lot at Good Figures Reported That Yards Have Suffered Some Injury From the Continued Cold Weather Krebs Bros, hop dealers and grow ers, of this city, yesterday sold to Eastern parties 100 bales of medium prime hops at 25 cents. Thoy still have 634 bales of primes, but will not sell for some tine, as thoy exppct the market to open up stronger in a few weeks. Tho hop center of Oregon is in Sa lem, and tho buyers and growers feel jubilant over tho prospects of a high price this summer. Every dealer ex presses himself as confident that tho brewers are up against It, and will bo compelled to come and see them very early In the season. One large deal er said: "The entlro foreign crop Is exhaust ed, and very little remains of tho American growth. Oregon dealers and growers have 2907 bales on hand, besides a few bales of 'olds' and 'old olds,' but tho latter cut very llttlo figure In tho market Salem dealers hold about three-fifths of tho stock, and do not caro to sell until tho mar get gets right. The outlook for tho crop this year will have some effect on tho market, nnd our reports lead us to believe that a great many of tho yards that bore largo crops last year have been weakened and havo suffered from tho long cold rainy weather. One yard on upland that wo examined shows many hills dead, and many more In a very punny con dition. If this prevails throughout the North Coast yards, whero tho rain has been heavy, tho crop this year will bo shortened, and that will add another flguro to tho price. New yards that did not get a good start Inst year aro also In tho same condition, and will not yield much, according to tho present outlook." Other dealers were fooling about the same, and looked forward to an advance In tho prices boforo July 1st. Krobs Bros, havo tholr big Polk coun ty yard of 420 acres in good shape, and report tho grounds In good condi tion. They also havo 224 acres In Marlon county. It Is understood that they rofused better than 2514 cents for a lot of primes yesterday. With a big price and fair crop Marlon coun ty will soo prosperous times this fall, as tho hops bring in a largo amount of money for distribution. Tho hop jtioney reaches pcoplo of all classes, and la a great help to many peoplo of small means who tako their vacation In tho hop yards at picking tlrao, and still earn money for their winter sup plies. 0 Sure Cure for Piles. Z lllllHIIIIMililliilll B9eev3tC!VHeKee 58BF. sr-fPA v. p ,, The crown of womanhood Is tnothethood. But uneasy lies the head that wears the crown or anticipates this coronation, when there is a lack of womanly strength to bear the burdens of maternal dignity nnd duty. The reason why so many women sink under the strain of motherhood is because they are unprepared. "I unhesitatingly udvise expectant moth 5ira XS u?e Dr- I'ierce's I'avorite Prescrip tion" writes Mrs ;.J ,V. G. Stephens, of Milk, Northumberland do., Va. The reason for this advice is that Dr. Pierce's Favorite Pre scription is the best preparative for the maternal function. No matter how healthy and strong a woman may be, she cannot use "Favorite Prescription " as a prepara tive for maternity without gain of health anil comfort. But it is the women who are not strong who best appreciate the gTeat benefits received from the use of "Favorite Prescription." For one thing its use makes the baby's advent practically painless. It has in many cases reduced days of suffer ltig to a few brief hours. It has changed the period of anxiety and struggle into a time of ease and comfort. The proprietors and makers of Doctor Pierce's Favorite Prescription now feel fully warranted in offering to pay $500 for any case of I.eucorrhea, Female Weakness, Prolapsus, or Falling of Womb, which they cannot cure. All the World's Dispensary Medical Association, Proprietors, of Bur falo, N. Y,. ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure.
