Special gent Flaherty, of the Sanborn-Porrls Map Company, of San Francisco, who Is ongnged In correcting charts of all the cities of tho state, says 80 now buildings havo been built In this city this year within tho "map limit," which Is bounded by tho "Wlllnmotte rlvor on tho north, Main stroot on the east tho Southorn Pacific track on the south and Elm street on tho west As sovoral now buildings havo been built outsldo of this district, and within the city limits, It 1b almost certain that at least 100 new buildings havo been erected In this city during tho past year, not Including soveral now struc tures In the suburbs. This shows a most substantial growth, and this ex cellont record Is oqualed by only one other town In the state bealdos Port land. Not only has Albany grown In point of new buildings and population this year, but tho city has been Improved every way.
