GRAND STREET FAIR Greater Salem Midsummer Carnival Committee of Sterling Busi ' ness Men Appointed The Greater Salem Commercial Club hold a well attended meeting at the city hall for tho purposo of hear ing and Investigating the proposition from I. W. Balrd and O. L. Hutchins, representing Geo. Jabour, who wishes to conduct a street carnival in Salem beginning Juno 2Dth and ending July 4th. Mr, HutchlnB went Into details, nnd gave a thorough explanation of tho carnival proposition. Ho said 12 shows accompanied the Jabour Company, among tho attrac tions being a Ferris wheel, a woll stocked menagerlo, a German clty midway plalsanco, etc. Ho argued nothing brought peoplo from far and near to a city and proved so attrac- uvo and beneficial generally ns a strct fair or carnival.
