New furniture for the barracks Is recommended, and al so a new water aystem for the home At the presetif time sater Is obtained through a 2-inch pipe from Iiogeburg, and, while the service Is satisfactory In quality, it is faulty and of Insuffi cient quantity, and makes the success ful fighting of fires in any of tho build ings an Impossibility. The accommo dations of the home arc all takon with the 90 veterans who are now there, and 2u applications for admission arc now on file. The repoit states that the new barracks end the addition to the hospital that were ordered by tho legislature have been partly finished. and the commandant recommends that they be completed, as the 100m Is badly needed for the accommodation of the Inmates of the home. The cost of completing the building Is estimat ed at ?IB0O. and when finished will ac commodate 150 persons. All of the gencial appropriation made by the state for the maintenance of the insti tution was exhausted on September 3oth last, but the reixirt states that there Is a stiffleient balance in the na tional fund to carry the home to De cember 31st.
