Jodon, of Sacramen to, formorly of Portland, Or., was In stantly killed In a railroad collision nt Lakovlow, three mllos oast of Sum mit, on tho Central Pacific lino of tho Southern Pacific road, nt 10:30 Sunday night. Fireman John 13. Cllne, who was with Engineer Jodon, was caught between tho ongluo nnd tondor, and It wns feared that ho would bo scalded to death by steam, but, by almost su perhuman eorts, tho trainmen suc ceeded in raising tho tondor and ho was alive, though insonslblo, when re leased.
