Case Was Continued. At 9 o'clock this morning the cam was called before County Judge Scott, when Attorney-General D. II. N. Black burn, who appeared for Superintend ent Calbreath and the state, asked for a continuance, on account of bis Ill health. Objection was made by Hogg's attorney to nny extended post, ponement. It was finally arranged that Deputy Prosecuting Attorney G. I MeNary should appoar for the statu,! and the case was continued until 2 o'clock this afternoon. Another Postponement. Tho asylum official, having madu on Irrogular return to tho writ. Judge Bcott ordered the case contlued until 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Case Is Not a Precedent. This proceeding by Kogg against the management of tho stato insano asy lum Is not without a precodont In the state. In 1301 Captain J. 11. Smith brought a writ of habeas corpus pro coodlng against Dr. I L. Rowland, then nuporlntondont of tho asylum. Fourteen physicians woro called and gavo tostlmony at the honrlng of the case, whlolt was conductud by ex County Judge W. C. Hubbard. The decision of the court wns that Smith be remanded back to the asylum, but. during the bearing of the case, ho os onpud from tho attendant In whose charge bo had been placed. 8ult for Money. F. L4ry, tho hop merchant, today began suit against Ed. Horren for J 1060 due on a promissory note and $300 attorney's fees, and has attached Mr. Herren's growing crop of hops to secure the same. Joseph Meyers & Sons welcomed thoir friends to tholr twenty-second annual opening Friday evening. The Second Regiment band occupied a place on tho second floor, and rondorod a lionutlful nroKram. Hoth floors of tho large store woro crowded with people. Thoro woh no display, but the various departments, filled with full goods, attracted a great deal of atten tion. In tho afternoon many ladles colled, and wore Horved with lemon ade. Mr. Meyers, senior, and his sons, Milton, Charles and Arthur, and Chlof Clorks Dlnsmoor and Holllstor, and tho ontlro forco went out after the opening, which lasted from 7 to 9:30, and had some Ice cream.
