Who Was the Boy Kiiled At
Woodburn
Coroner Clough has received nu
merous Inquiries concerning the young
man who lost his life bonoath the ov
erland train at Woodburn last Satur
day. Tho, young man's Idontlty was
not established at the time of the acci
dent, when It was supposed that ho
was some translont, without friends
in those parts, and that theory Is still
held by Coroner Clough. However, a
Mrs. Tate and son, of Sublimity,
called on Coroner Clough this morn
ing to get further details concerning
tho young man and his Idontlty. Tho
woman thought the body might have
been that of her son. She received a
letter from the boy that was written
nt Wheatland, August 2d, and mailed
at Drooks on tho same day, tho day
upon which tho accident took place.
Slnco then she has heard nothing
from him. When informed thnt tho
train, upon which tho young stronger
lost his llfo, reaches Woodburn at
0:30 o'clock in tho morning, and thnt
It makes nd stops at Brooks, tho wo
man was reasonably satisfied that tho
body could not be thnt of her son, but
to further satisfy herself she will send

Coroner Clough also received a let
ter of Inquiry this morning from Al
bert F. Jalrl, of tho 26th battery, U. S.
A of Vancouver barracks, Wash.
Jalrl writes that his brother is en
rauto from tho East to tho coast for n
visit with himself and other relatives,
who resldo In Salem. From tho fact
that tho brothor had not yet appeared,
tho writer feared that it may havo
boon his rolatlvo that met with tho
accident. Ho enclosed a photo of his
missing brother, but Coronor Clough
says tho picture boars no resemblanco
to tho man that was killed.
