This morning, at 8 o'clock, when D. B. Tho bomb was mado of a plcco or gas plpo, about eight Inches long, with a steel plug In ono ond, a woodon plug In tho other, and primed with a fuso about 18 inches long, that had been set on Ore, and had failed to cause an explosion. Tho bomb Bmollod Btrongly'of nltro glycorlno, nnd had evidently boon put thoro nnd fired for tho purpose of de stroying tho building. Tho smoll of tho acid used to mako tho compound was vory plain, nnd ho warned all not to handlo tho bomb, and It was put In a pan of water to soak, until some meanB of opening It could bo found.
