Temporary - Reduction on all Grades of Wail Paper Mr. Corbett lilmsolf. I further agrjo to use all honorable efforts to secure Mr. Corbett'a election to the United States Senate. A. S. Iirkhskr. April 10, 1000. Dresser's explanation In reply to tho above letter was that ho had aitroed before election to voto for Mr. Corbett if he was a candidate. Ho udmittcd signing the letter published aud saying ho had intended to support Mr. Corbett until ten days before this session when he became suspicious as to methods employed and rumors hoard and stories told him by others, and ho had since decided ho could not voto for Mr. Cor bett. He got a round of applause ut thocloeo of his remarks and tho rollcall proceeded. That was the day the Mcllride voto went to Geo. II. Williams and they will probably stand on that gentleman as their final candidate. Herman got seven votes, but it is understood that of there but five will stand by him. Mr. Dresser' speech was well received but produced no effect on the situation oxcept to make the Corbett supportora atand by him more tlrmly. House-Thursday. . If tho man on theicnd studies the bill of faro and thon or ders a hum sandwich, pumpkin ple-and n Klass of milk, all his neighbors are likely to duplicate his order, nnd soon there will bo n wholo row eating ex actly the xmno things. Sometimes this similarity of appctlto causes serious embarrassment. This Is Invariably the : case If the occupants of the high chairs shift about the same time and tho turn ! I on tho end have numerous chances to set esntnpleH for 20 orUO pntroun. Then he pumpkin pie or sandwiches are I aure lo give out before the noon hour Is past. "It's funny how lazy people are," said one of the waiters at a down town lunch place. "There are lots of ruou who won't look nt a bill of fare, and they Just stare over the counter nnd nsk for anything that comes Into their heads If they don't happen to hoc another fellow eating Just what they want. If we have something sort of out of the ordinary, like fried oysters, something that can be written on tho card lu Ink, so It will rnnko a good Ira presslon on tho public.
