For the Recovery of an Amount of Property Al leged to Have Been Appropriated ty Defendant.. Tho Salem Light & Traction Conv piny, plaintiff, vs. F. It. Anson, defend ant, ia tho titlo of n new caso filed in Department No. 1 of tho statu circuit court for Marion county. The complaint alleges that between Juno 1 1898, and October 20, 1890, tho defendant was the managing agent of tho plaintiff's bunl neaa, in and about Salem, and that tho plaintiff then received largo payments for furnishing lights to tho City of Sa lem, to Marion county and tho State of Oregon, the payments being in city, county and atato warrants, which, tho plaintiff alleges, tho defendant convert od into cash; that defendant converted to his own use tho sum of $3,387.18. Tho plaintiff allegos that on October 12 it domanded of defondaut that ho account to and pay to tho plaintiff tho said sum of $1,387. For a further and eeparato causo of action, tho plaintiff alleges that on tho day of Octobor, 1800. tho plaintiff was tho owner of a warrant for $153.05,ieBuod by tho city of Salem, No. 5012,in pay ment of electric lighting furnished by tho plaintiff to tho city for the month of September, 1800; tho plaintiff also al leges having been tho owner of a county warrant lor 35,lsatied by Marlon county, No. 45,072. in payment of lighting for Soptembor 1800. Tho plaintiff alleges that tho defendant secured and convert cd those two warrants, aggregating $105, to his own use, and that, though a do aiaud for tlosBossion of them has been mado, tho domand was refused. Pro fessor Gurrison during tho afternoon favored tho ascemblago with many plana compositions on tho instrument of w hich ho proved himself a thorough master.
