bill, does not soften tho feeling against
him. Others wero antagonized during
the Porto Rican tariff fight, when o
used oppressive methods to coerco

Hcndorson aroused tho indignation of
tho entlro sonato by venting a public let
ter calling them cowards nnd insinuating
that thoy nro corrupt.

that ho was opposed to tho bill for tho
promotion of Generals Miles and Corbin,
and did not propose to allow it to be
