The abovo facts from tho record show two point blank lies, viz, that it nover charged over "$150 or $200 for p tax list" and that tho pay for tho saniu was "noverdrawn from thocounly treasury." In addition to tho above it can be said that the tax lists published by Tiik Jouii.vai. wero done nt about half tho rato charged by tho Statesman in this $500 claim.
