whole trip, In which overy detail of In

most Important of all, tho stopping
places, their frequency and character.
It is somewhat surprising to learn
that on tho trip from Nomo to Dawson
thoy woro compelled to sleep out of doors
but three tlmos. They found cabins
and friendly shelter at nearly overy
nolnt. on thu road Indian villages,
steamboats, woodchoppcre cabins nnd
mail stations ho within a day's travel 01
each other, or closer, over tho entire
distance, and tliero is plenty of wood all
tho way.
They carried with thorn at the start
both 0 stovo and a tent. 'Iho tent they
cut up for a sled cover when a day or
two out, nnd the stovo they dlsjioseu ol
a day or two later.

opera house block have been completed
by tho architects, 1'ugh & Gray, and aro
now In tho hands of K. l McCornack,
the owner of tho block, who will soon

When tho work has been completed
the old opera houso building will bo ono
of tho finest business blocks in tho city.
Tho wliolo lower floor, back to where
tho Japancro storo oponlng on Court
street Is now located, will bo thrown

glass front from floor to ceiling all
around on both Court and Liberty
streets.
Hrlck pillars will alternate with Iron
in tho frontage. This will leave over 100
running foot of tho finest show windows
in thu city. Tlio main entrance will bo
on Liberty street, where tho stairs now
lend to tlio second story, nnd thoro will
bo a side entrnnco on Court street. The
basement will bo fitted up also for a
