Another Pioneer Laid to Rest.
At the homo of her son in Hnzcldell,
near Sllverton, Mrs. Sarah English died
March 2nd, 1000 aged 88 years nnd -I
months. Decease! was born in Tonnes
eeoln 1811, and when aliout sixteen
years of ofco her parents moved to Wash
ington, Davis county, Indiana, then in
C5crosed tlio plains to Oregon, and
with her only son settled in Marlon
county where she has since resided. Her
maiden name was Sarah Smiley and was
joined in the holy bonds of wedlock to
John Kngllsh In Indiana in about tho
yenr 18.'ll. At an early ago alio united
with tho Cumberland Presbyterian
church and has slnco lived tho lifo of n
devoted christian. Resides ono eon she
leaves three nieces and one nephow to
mourn her loss, namely Mrs. M. Graham
