The Measure Sent to Committee On Education In the Sen ate, The press Is well represented In the House, tho old force being all there and the Portland Times and Baker City Democrat being also represented. The committee, of which William son, of Crook, is chairman, appointed at the special session to investigate this subject, made Its report nnd In troduced a resolution of which the following are the main features; No clerks to bo employed by the sennte except a chief enrolling and engross ing clerk with one assistant; one cacli for the committees on Ways and Means and on .Judiciary; ten clerks at large, and six stenographers. The list for the House Is the same except that fifteen general clerks are allowed Instead of ten. These clerks are to report to the chler clerk each morn ing at nine o'clock for assignment, where needed. Wages of chief en rolling and engrossing clerk to bo six dollars per day his assistants, the clerks of the two named committees and the stenographers live dollars and all others three dollars. A strong effort wus made to post pone consideration, under tho leader ship of Flagg and Whallcy.
