It makes llttlo difference to the peo ple of the city what direction they ride out of the city for a fresh air out ing. The elevation to which they are carried makes a great deal of dif ference. Tho view to be had from tho elevation to which pco- plo are carried for five cents is aluo Important. Th people on tho South Salem line and out towards Liberty are keen to get a park lino ex tension. The lino out to the cemetery la already a brotd gunge line and Is a paying line. It would not cost nearly $.0 much to construct a park lino as nn extension of tho South Salem line as to rebuild the line to Mornlngslde. The people of Mornlngilde ought to have tho broadgauge cam run out through their addition and beyond. As we aro Informed, tho electric lino company a9kB a donation of thirty acres of land and tho right of way, In con&lderatlon for which they propose to build tho lino broad gaugo and build and enclose tho park, equip tho lino with first-class cars and put on the extra open-air park cars re quired for such a llnev-ln all Involv ing an outlay of about $0,000, and ensuring Mornlngsldo with a first class car service.
