streets, met with an accident thut
may bo fatal. Mr. Pike had occasion
to pass onto tho back porch and his

tho ground, n distance of over three
feet. In falling Mr. Pike struck his
back on tho well curb. Tho physician
pronounces his troublo as concussion
of tho lungs. Mr. Plko Is 83 years
old.

nounced. By Judge Bowerman's de
cree Mr. Shepard will bo obliged to
submit to a hair-cut at tho hands of
Sheriff II. Amsler and will also bo
obliged to accept an Immersion In the
mill race that flows so conveniently
near tho campus. It was nearly mid
night when court was dismissed and
tho merry party wended Its way home
ward, having spent a most delightful
oyening looking forward with
pleasant anticipation to the repeti
tion of so pleasant an affair.
