Dalrymple's dry goods establishment, was visited by a sneak thief early last evening. The bulldlnir is used as a lodizlm place for persons employed In Strong's restaurant and when Willis Judson, one of tho waiters, went to his room for tho purpose of making some changes In his toilet, he discovered that some one had entered tho room and removed a suit of clothes and a mackintosh. It Is not known how the man gained entrance to tho room since he left no trace whatever of his visit. Tne same place was visited only a week or ten days ngo and a quantity of clothing removed. There Is no clue to the guilty party. Davis Bound Over. Tho prelimi nary examination of Frank Davis, who was arrested In Corvallls earlv thl week on the charge of adultery, was hold In Police court this morning. All spectators and witnesses-were excluded from the court room, the trial being conducted behind -closed doors. Dis trict Attorney S. L. Haydcn appeared for the stato while Messrs. McCourt and Prcscott conducted the defence. Davis was bounded over to await the action of the grand Jury In the sum of 9500 In default of which ho was com mitted to the county Jail.
