In a brief speech ho referred to tho Democratic assembl age of Tuesday in a humerous manner, eliciting great applause. He pledged himself to treat ull elements of the con vention fairly. H. 8. Jordan was made temporary secretary by acclamation. W. A. Moores was made assistant secretary. Warren -Cranstan moved committee of flye on order of business. Carried. E. M. Croisau moved a committee of five on apportionment. E. 8. Ormsdy moved a committee of five on credentials. Chair appeinted: E. 8. Ormsby, J. C. Peebles, W. I. Tooze, J. 8. Taylor, W'L. Slmeral. Therreport of the committee on cre dentials was submitted showing dele gates as hero published. Nearly every delegate was present, there being not oyer half a dozen proxies. A LITTLE FUN, Geo. B. Miller, of Fairfield, asked that his name appear correctly. He did not want to appear as an alias. Laughter. His wife did not want to be in doubt as to who sho was living with. Great laughter. D. C. Sherman moved a committee on permanent organization. Carried. li. T. Judd moved a committee of flye on platform. Carried. Wm. Armstrong moved that a sepa rate delegation of 21 bo selected to tho state convention. Carried.
