Reports from all parts of Kansas received by local G. A. R. posts show that Decoration day was more generally observed lu Kiusas than over before. Business was practi cally suspended. Tho Chinese store of Chung Lou, dwelling house of Geo. Dun lop and tho new commercial hotel were also destroyed. Three head of horses, belonging to Isenhofier & Cropper, were burnt. Los Anoelos, June 1, One of Ibe most destructive fires in the his tory of Los Angeles occurred yester day ufternoon. About 4 o'clock (lames were noticed coming out oi if the rear of tho Norton Ulock, a four-story frame apartment building, corner of Seventh and Hill streets. It was Impossible to control It, and In less than a half hour tho block was entirely destroyed, together with ull tho furniture in tho vurious upartments. A small frame cottage, back of the Norton block, owned by Norton and occupied by Mrs. Abbott, wa9 also destroyed and an adjacent houso on Hill street, u two-story dwelling owned by John Rhlnelmrt wus partially burned. Tho flames then swept east on Seventh street, totally destroying a two-story frame dwelling, owned by Delcasa & Church. Further progress of the ilimes was chpeked at this point by n vacant lot.
