Los Anoelos, June 1, One of Ibe most destructive fires in the his tory of Los Angeles occurred yester day ufternoon. About 4 o'clock (lames were noticed coming out oi if the rear of tho Norton Ulock, a four-story frame apartment building, corner of Seventh and Hill streets. It was Impossible to control It, and In less than a half hour tho block was entirely destroyed, together with ull tho furniture in tho vurious upartments. A small frame cottage, back of the Norton block, owned by Norton and occupied by Mrs. Abbott, wa9 also destroyed and an adjacent houso on Hill street, u two-story dwelling owned by John Rhlnelmrt wus partially burned. Tho flames then swept east on Seventh street, totally destroying a two-story frame dwelling, owned by Delcasa & Church. Further progress of the ilimes was chpeked at this point by n vacant lot.
