TELLER ON SILVER. Washington, D. C, Juno 11. Senator Teller, .f Nevada, In his speech on the silver bill went to question aud deny the accuracy of sumo of the statements In Sherman's last speech on the bill. Ono of the points was that the gold dollar had always been our unit of value. "Tlit't is not true," said Teller "whether it comes from t lie ex-sec rotary of the treasury or anybody else." Another point in Sherman's spiech which Teller disputed and denied was that the increase of i-ir dilation had kept pace with the In ciease of population. Teller said: It would require an annual In crease of $44,000,000 of currency to meet the annual Increase of poptila tion. The statement by Siiermai and others that the supporters of tin bill wanted a cheap di liar, Tcllei said, was a species of demagog which was a di-grace to the senate They wanted the honest dollar re stored. The, dollar that had beet stricken down without the will o the people nnd without their knowl edge.
