C. at Eugene, sends tho following interesting nccout of the aflair up to 11 o'clock Inst night: Tlie encampment of the G, A. 1L, department of Oregu, was called to order at 3 o'clock p. m. to-day, by Department Commander Mcelroy. Tho attendance is very good, al though quite a number of posto in Southern nnd Eastern Oregon are not lepresented. The business of the department headquarters is well in hand, nnd stjrted ofT in good shape. Depart ment Commander MeElroy present ed his report, which was a well pre pared document, and gives much in formation ubotit tho condition of tho department, from which it is found that tho members have largely increased in the past year, and that the financial condi tion is on a good basis. Tho other reports show progress in all the brunches. This evening the ladies of the Relief Corps herc,gavea magnificent entertainment for the Ijetielit of the visitors, and we have (he promise of a grand camp-fire und royal feast on to-morrow (Thurs day) evening. We also btve an Invitation from l'rof. Con don of the Btato university, to visit his rooms und examine the remains of his three-toed borne aud other fosl remains.
