They propose to do more than their

Every republican must keep posted.
Tub Jouknai front now until elec

full proceedings thereof, as well us
sound republican doctrine, good for
all citizens Irresjicetlvo of parly.
In tho Wkbki.y Journal for
Ma -ch 14th will bu found the call
for thu Republican county conven

the contest for tho political control
of the state will go forward.
Thu circulation of some republican
pipers froiu now until election will
secure all increased voto for tho
straight party ticket. Thero Is no
better way to rally tnu iuiik aim me
of tho party, to gain the young
voters, mid establish tho doubtful
and wavering voters, than by plac

reading. This preliminary cam
paign work can bo douo by anyone
at odd tlntc8, or by taking a few
hours yoii cm canvass your entire
neighborhood. Tun Daily and
Weekly t'Ai'iTAL Jouknal will be
found to Interest all kinds of readers,
and soiuQ democrats liko to read a
fair and' reliable republican paper
that tells them tho truth about their
party. We wish to ask friends to
get up a campaign club for the
Weekly Jouhnal tho clieaent
paper In Oregon. For less than Ms.
a weok any voter can bo kept fully
postoil on tho progress of tho state
canvass. Keep fully read up on re
publican principles, ami keep track
of what tho enemy aro up to.
Counting on tho reaction and apathy
that always follow president

crats ltopo to carry Oregon
at this election. Tlioy want to cap
turo thu state ticket, and our repre

Every copy of a carefully edited re
publican paper that is taken from
now until election will alii iu pre
venting this political calamity from
overtaking our rapidly developing
state. Let Oregon follow In the
wako of the now Northwest and go
solidly republican. You can aid In
accomplishing tills by Bonding us a
campaign club, at thu rato of 'St

effort, you can pick up from one to a
hundred names and help thu cause
of republicanism. Head up our an

work Iu your neighborhood. If thu
Jouhnal does not suit you, got up
a club for somo other good rcpiibll

to take a campaign paper lo keep

Let tin republican underestimate
tho vigilant opposition. Encour

party that will help it to get the
upoitrt of ollKv, llu apiiollh for ullleo
being its only animating principle.
Let us sustain the efforts of the na

was lost under four years of demo

publican party in Oregon and in all
the branches of the national gov

up the biggest majority in June

Let us sustain the principles that

It Is an era of political restlessness,
says tiic New York Voice. That Is
true but that restlessness is mainly
coufltied to tiic members of the third
aud democratic parties. There is
very little dissatisfaction or restless
ness among the republicans. Their
parly Is grappling with tarlfT reform,
ballot reform and all problems to
which it is committed. There is,
as a result of the restlessness among
tiie democrats and prohibitionist
third party men, quite a nieemcnt
toward the nationalist parties.
