pany consists entirely of home tal
ent, who will continue their eflorts

state. Tho audience was without
doubt, one of the largest that bos
ever assembled In the opera bouse
on such an occasion. To speak of
tho entire performance, ns the com
pany richly deserve would
bo a hard matter but suf
fice it to say that from the time
the curtain arose until the perform
ance ended with tbo screaming
farce, "Bio 'em Jack," the audience
was perfectly delighted. The pro-

ya trio, "Oh, .Restless Bea," by
Misses Parrlsh and Scriber and Mr.
J. H. Itoss. The production proved
a striking one. It pleased tho au
dience, who loudly encored them
until they were compelled to ap
pear a second time. Miss Scrlbei

alto voice and in connection with
the deep bass voice of Mr. Ross, and
tho soft nnd blending sweet notes
from Miss Purrlsh, the fleet upon

"The Kcnsntionnl Artists, Keller uud
Chose," who flashed before the foot
lights in such a surprising manner,
that it wus something like "Jack in
the box." They appeared as the "col
ored swells," carrying their
own scenery. Their performance
wns a decided hit. Mr. J. H. Itoss
then sang "Rocked In tho Cradlo of
the Deep," In nn unusually artistic
rummer. He was compelled to favor
the audience with another selection,
ns tho utiplauso was general all over
tho audience. In his second appear
unco he captivated his hearers In
singing "I'm a Swell."

Sevllln," by Miss Hulllo Purrlsh. as
sisted by Mr. Ross. Tho song took

tho audience was taken by storm.
Miss Purrlsh sang In n soft, rich
melodious voice, "Listen to tho
Mocking IHrd," wlillo Mr. Ross cap
tured the hearts of his hearers in his
imitation or tlio mocking bird. The
selection was Immense, uud nt the
conclusion of the same tlio houso
fairly shook with round after round
of appbuso. Following this was a
recitation by Miss Oruco Scriber, en
titled "Oenovive." Miss Scriber Is
fast becoming u rcclterof much note.
In her recitation last evening, she
showed considerable force of power,
and hold heraudlencoiu deep silence.
