THE CAPITAi EVEOT2TG- JOUIiNAL. TDE CAPITAL JOURNAL 1 HE DEED OF ASSASSINS. A Voting Sinn or Tncoina Win roully Shot Ilonn. Tacoma, Oct. 5. "My God! I'm shot," were the word" following a pistol shot heard on C. street be tween Fourth and Fifth to-night at 11 o'clock. The victim, Enoch CrtHliy, a plumber, was on his way home, which is on the corner of Fourth I and C. street, when he w.is foully murdered, lie was just opposite' Mr. Inker's Ihuimmiu C. street, when two men met him, and withoutay ing a word one of them diow a re volver and as the victim turned to run, the fatal shot was fired. His cries were heard by all thou living in the neighborhood, and upon being usked what was the matter, he aiiMcred, "M fi.xl, Pin shot!"' and started across the street. immediately a number oi men gathered mound, and the victim Mas taken to the house of Mr. "White, where ho now lies without any hope of lecovery. The ball entered the back of the hip, and passing through the body, is close to the navel, having passed through the intestines. Mr. Crosby has been spitting and vomiting blood ever since lying down. Dr. AVintermute was called in, and did all he could for the patient. The man attacked is a son of Capt. Crosby, and is about "H years of age, aim had only been in the city a week, having come here from Fiiy allup. There is no clue as yet to his as sailants, but the police are doing everything in their power. From all facts it would seem to be a ease of mistaken identity, as tlio victim was not asked to "hands up and deliver." or even told to stop, but upon sight was shot. The men doing it fled down C street, one turning and going down a steep en baukment. The other ran down the street and hid uuder the Con gregational church, but by the time the oftlcera arrived he had lied. The young man and his family being well known here, there is a great deal of excitement, and aie anxious to see all the guilty parties caught and brought to justice.
