From one of the old documents of court recorded on tile lu the county clerk's office, the copy of the follow ing note is extracted: 'Within sixty dayn, without grace, after date I promked to pay to the order of John Curray the sum of $2,500 with interest thereon from date until paid, at the rate of four per cent, per month, the inter est payable monthly in advance, and if not so paid to become a part of the principal and bear thurenfier the same amount of interest, com pounding monthly for value re ceived. One of our local editors clipped from a leading magazine extracU from a vivid description of a western blizzard which we have taken the liberty to publish nnd at tho same time suggest to H. H. The following ia the des cription : "At the closo of a dark day in January a solitary horseman wends his way across the open prairie in one of our western territories.
