Then again, woman Is the supreme being in tho lamily, and iustinctively perseveres longest agaiust temptation, adversity nnd unfortunate environment, in tho effort to sustain aud preserve the family bark from wreck on the sea of dissipation. All thelnteuso feel ings and forces of wifehood nnd motherhood are rallied for tho great struggle against tho drink demon who Invades her 'sacred citadel. Whoever surrenders to him and sometimes he captures nil and spares neither sex as a rule, tho woman who is a wife and mother yields last. Intemperance is not n natural passion.
