London, April 27. No further news from the seat of War haa reached Lon &n. Stirring news, however, is hourly npwted from Yalu and VladivoV.o'ck. The general opinion that Vice Admi.Ml Togo is waiting for he Viadivostock iquidron is confirmed by the Daily Telegraph 's Tokio correspondent, who ays there is no doubt tne Japanese ie ttkine steps to cut off the retreat t-f the Madivostoek ships. - Japs Cross the Yalu. St. Petersburg, April 26. The een mrs' committee did not give out the dispatches received today regarding the movement .of Japan across the Yalu river. It is intimated information had been received that the Japanese had ctotsI the river but they were accom panied by a statement that the success of the enemy should not be regarded as an important victory, the Russians having no intention of vigorously eon testing the passage, their plan being to annoy the enemy as- much as possible. It is evident from the dispatches re ferred here, in order to render the , f rowing feasible, the Japanese made a feint oa Tatung Kadwhile jt a e .troops actually trossed. some miles up the riv er Tthangd jiou. Two companies were first thrown into Manchuria and un qumthnahly f entrenched and immedi ately onder cover of their guns rein forcements crossed. It is regarded as prohable when these troops afe in 'suf ficient numbers thev will march along the Manehuria bank of the Yalu in the direction of Antung. THIRD MISSING VOTERS OF MARION COUNTY ABE . INDIFFERENT AS TO DUTY OF BEOISTERINO. Popular Vote of County Will Be Swell ed by Immigrants Elaborate Prepar ations Being Made at Woodburn for the Opening. Republican Meeting Political Notes From all Over County The registration in this county up to the present time is very low indeed, and there is yet but a brief time left to at tend to this important duty. Yesterday morning the clerk's office reported a few over 4000, against 5964 registra tion! two years ago. ' Thus the short tge is nearly 33 per cent without cal culating the new comers in. the county h have become voters since tne reg istration of two years ago. - There may has few who do not understand that registration is necessary before one t vote for President also. Squire L. H. Poujade of Gervais, was visiter at the court house yesterday, hriaginjj about thirty certificates of registration from Gervais precinct. . In that precinct 165 have registered, against 206 two years ago. " Squire Poujade says ther are a great ny new comers there who will be eome voters this year, but just how they will vote remains yet to be seen. They are principally Hungarians, and very fine elass of people, and ,the Squire, thinks they will swell Gervais precinct vote considerably, , , - The Republicans of Woodburn, un der direction of Hon. Walter L- Toose, dutriet eommittee chairman, are mak ing arrangements for a rousing Repub lican rally on a week from next Sat urday (May 7), and a general good e is promised. It is.understood that rrangetaenta have been made by which ke band from ' the Indian Training aool at Chemawa will be present and the number of good speakers "will be Emited only bv the briefness of the ev ening. The district chairman is ex ceedingly anxious that a good atten dance may be had as this is to be the proper opening ot the district and coun ty campaign.
