Thursday, Octabar 13, 1977 NysM Sata Qty Journal ■ Nyssa, Oregon Joyce Haney Becomes Bride of Ken Harrison Sixth Grade Goes To Vale Marian Kunkel In C of I Comedy The Nyssa Sixth Graders went to the county court house in Vale on October 4. 1977, as a culmination of laws and government We also visited the Bureau of Land Management office to learn more about our government land. First we visited Mr. Frank Yraguen. the Circuit Judge, and saw a sentencing of a real prisoner in the court room. After that, we went to visit Mr. Jim Mosier, the Juvenile officer, then to lunch in the Park After we ate lunch, we went to see Mr. Grant Baugh. BLM Range Conser vationist. He took us to see some wild horses. It was a very interesting trip. Joe Garner Sixth Grader A subtle comedy. Oscar Wilde's "The Impcrtance of Being Earnest.” will be presented by College of Idaho students at 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday. October 21-22 at Jewett Auditorium on campus of College of Idaho, Caldwell. Idaho Hazel Tyler Hosts Sons In an evening ceremony. July 30. 1977. it the Owyhee Community Church. Joyce Haney, daughter of Mr. and Mr». Boyd Haney at Nyssa and Ken Hamson son of Mr and Mrs. Dave Hamson of New Plymouth, were joined in marriage In the presence of 250 guests, the double nng ceremony was preformed by Dale Cardwell of the Weiser Baptist Church and Fred Moxom of the Owyhee Community Church. Joyce who was escorted to the altar by her father was attired in a long white satin and chiffon gown with a high neckline with lace front and long puffed sleeves caught with lace cuffs. It featured a pleated ruffle that formed a chapel train. Her elbow length lace trimmed veil was held in place with a ribbon and lace headpiece. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, white daisies and baby breath. Her only jewelry was a cameo. The maid of honor was Heide Stovener of Council. She wore a peach print princess gown trimmed in brown. The bridesmaids were Barbara Haney, sister of the bnde and Sharon Dail, cousin of the bride. They were attired in gowns identi cal to the maid of honor's. They all wore matching wide- brimmed lace hats and carried baskets of peach colored flowers. Alisia Brown was junior bridesmaid. Her dress was a yellow print similiar to the other attend ants. She carried a basket of yellow flowers. Lighting the candles were Julie Duncan of Boise and Karla Farmer of Kuna. Their dresses were yellow print and they wore yellow ribbon headpieces. Dave Hamson served as bestman for his son. The ushers were Steve Sutton, of Portland, Oregon; Darryl Holbrook, New Plymouth, and Wayne Morris of Council Douglas Farmer of Kuna was the nngbearer. The bride's mother chose along cream floral print with a corsage of yellow roses and daisies. The grooms's mother wore a long rust gown and her corsage was yellow roses and daisies. The church was decorated with candelabra with long yello» tapers and large floral baskets of shaded yellow, bronze and peach glads and white daisies. Special music was pro vided by Roger Haney singing “Charity** Neiius Cook of Smiths Ferry sang The Wedding Song and accompanied himself on the guitar Janet Watson accom panied by Kay Moxom sang a selection. Joyce sang “The Love Song" from Ruth especially for Ken. A reception followed the ceremony in the church basement. A special feature of the refreshment table was the cake made in tiered hearts with a candleiighted stairway wending up around the cake to the top. where there was a cross with interlocking rings. The cake was made and decorated by the groom's mother Those assisting were Brenda and Leila Farmer, cousins of the bride serving the cake. Ethelmae Dail, aunt of the bride and Janet Watson, cousin of the bride of Nampa poured punch, and Lillian Baker of Baker poured coffee. Joyce is a graduate of Nyssa High School and attended Montana Bible In stitute. Ken is a graduate of New Plymouth High School and has attended Moodie Bible School and Judson Baptist College. Ken is now serving as youth pastor of Five Mile Community Church while continuing his studies at Boise Bible College. Joyce is teaching at All God’s Children Kindergarten Ken and Joyce took a short honeymoon to the Hell's Canyon area and now are at home at 1490 Sunrise Manor in Boise A Mrs. Hazel Tyler of Nyssa enjoyed several days of visiting with her sons. Russell Carter and his daughter cheryl who arrived in Nyssa, Sept. 23. from Louisville. Kentucky. home of Gary and Pam Garrison on Monday. Tues day evening Robert and Lucia Krul arrived from Midland. Pennsyvania to visit with his mother. Saturday night 33 people enjoyed a lasagne dinner prepared by Robert and Lucia Krul and served at the home of John and Alicia Shell. Mrs. Tyler's grandchildren from Boise came over for the occasion. They were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Osborne, Bren da, Ginger. Crystal and Robbie; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Arnold. Andrea and Ronnie; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Slaugh ter. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Slaughter and Carla. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huff man came home far the weekend to visit with his uncles and aunts. Russell Carter who is president of the Jagger Equipment Company in Lo uisville and daughter Cheryl left for home October 3. Robert Krul who is presi dent of his own company of Mausoleum building and wife left for Midland. Pen* nsylvania October 9. Fred and Arlene Huffman of Nyssa hosted serveral dinners while her brothers were here. Lots of visiting and lots of food was enjoyed by all. EAGLES AUXILIARY The officers of Eagles Auxiliary #2134 hosted a salad luncheon for all Auxi liary members on Tuesday, October 4 at the Eagles Hall. Following the luncheon a regular business meeting was held. Madam President Kay Carpenter gave a report on the Region 4 meeting. Other business discussed included the Hunter's Ball to be held October 15 and the Community holiday Market November 19. The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at the Eagles Hall at 8 p.m. ALPHA DELTA KAPPA INTERNATIONAL.
