In the leaflet, available in both Spanish and English, Mrs. Conner outlines safe canning, freezing and pick ling methods for chile pep pers. There is no charge for the leaflet and it may be obtained at the Malheur County Extension Office at 1252 SW 4th Avenue, Ontario or at the Expanded Foods and Nutrition Office, 12 East 1st in Nyssa. Mrs. Conner reminds home canners that it is extremely important to use reliable tested recipes when canning foods. Correct pro cessing times and procedures City Manager. Henry Schneider, reported that Ny ssa will receive an estimated $13,500 in State Revenue Sharing funds. Attorney Steve Fonda read an Ordin ance during Tuesday’s Coun cil meeting indicating the City wishes to participate in receiving State Funds. The 1977 State Legisla tors passed a measure creating State Revenue Shar ing. Under the law, Nyssa's Budget Committee and City Council are required to hold Public Hearings at which the general public may provide input for expenditurea. In as much as the law is to be initiated at once, the two hearings must be completed prior to July 31 or the City will not be eligible. Council reviewed the cri teria and passed upon a broad budget proposal which encompasses Nyssa’s im mediate needs. After the City Budget Committee conducts a Citizen’s Hearing on July 21, a proposal will be to give a safe product. Mr».
