delicious luncheon at noon
and all had a wonderful time.
Mrs. Olson stopped by
Mrs. Nell Corrells Tuesday
evening and they had a very
nice visit. Mrs. Olson used to
live here in Apple Valley.

son of Seattle visited all day
Saturday with Mrs. Nell

spent Easter weekend with

taken to the hospital in

Governor Robert Straub
has invited school children
and high school age youth to
send him ideas on energy
conservation.
Grade school children are
asked to make posters
showing how energy can be
saved in their communities.
Copies of the posters should
be sent to the Governor's
Commission on Youth for
judging. The child making
the best poster will be
awarded a prize.

Following the adoption and
approval of the minutes and
treasurer's report, a weed
clean-up committee of Wyatt
Smith, Earl Chard and Vem
Duus was named. They are to
burn and clean up the weeds
around the Legion Hall. The
rummage sale reports indi­
cated good results and
profits.

Mr. W. L. McPartland,
superintendent of the Nyssa
Schools and Mrs. Beth
Leggett, an elementary
school teacher, spoke to the
club about the coming
pageant, "What Is Nyssa?”
This will be a dedication
program for the new school
auditorium and will involve
many townspeople when it is
presented May 5, 6 and 7.
The club decided to distri­
bute the tickets for the event.
Everyone was reminded to
vote in the May 19 election.
Following the closing of the
meeting with prayer by
Wyatt Smith, chaplain the
group enjoyed the usual
potluck dinner. The nurses
were there to record blood
pressures also.
