SHEILA WELCH and The Malheur County Sp ring 4H Fair was held June 10-12 m Ontario, with several Nyssa home economies and art clubs participating. Forty nine Nyssa 4-H'ers prepared 81 exhibits and entered 67 contests in the areas of foods, clothing, art. leather craft and knitting. The Fair provides many contests in food and clothing, as well as sewing and fixxl judging contests. The girls do not compete with each other, but are judged according to their own abilities. Exhibi tions are entered by the year accomplished, while contests are divided into age groups: Junior. 9-11. Intermediate. 12-14 and Senior. 15-19. Participants from Nyssa were from ten clubs, 40 Junior members. 8 Interme diate members and one Senior. Several won awards. Valerie Fanning took part in the 4-H Fair. Awards given for Spring Fair A new sewing machine was awarded last evening to 4-H'er Johanna Moore. Vale, at the conclusion of the 1975 4-H Spring Fair. The award was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Ron McKone of the Ontario Sewing and Vacuum Center Spring Fair held this past week at Ontario High School drew over 300 4-H members from throughout the county. These 4-H'ers were enrolled in home eco nomics projects who com peted in contests, entered exhibits, and participated in style review . Cindy Church all of Vale; Elizabeth Roberts Sally Collins. Steffie Schram, and Mary Lynn Kaatz of Ontario. Many local businesses, or ganizations. and others made possible the various awards. Remodeling Classes Set The second and third home remodeling projects offered through Treasure Valley Com munity College Community Education will cover concrete work. Babe Ruth League Fri. June 13 Babe The Nyssa Cubs Ruth team lost the last two games they played. The Cubs lost to Ontano 11 to 0 Friday at TVCC field. Snappy Nyssa Majors Boosters Elect Mon June 16 New Officers Nyssa's Mark Needs struck out the last two men he faced in the bottom of the sixth inning with the tieing run on third to preserve an 11-10 Major League victory over Weiser No. 1 last night and Nyssa's perfect record. The 7-0 Nyssa squad seemed on its wsy to an easy victory after leading 9-0 in the fifth inning. But Weiser never gave up and jumped on the Nyssa pitching for five runs. The visitors continued the rally in the sixth before Needs saved Nyssa. Tony Franklin and Needs led Nyssa with three hits each Dave Moffis slammed a home run for Nyssa and Cobill and Randy Duncan hit one a piece for Weiser.
