As we close out the old year and welcome 1975, we can look to the old with incredibility, and to the new with optimism. 1974 brought us perhaps one of the most incredible vears in history, certainly it made history. Resignations of'both a president and vice president, appointments of their successors, inflation, recession, and confusion. Reading Babson, he gives us confidence that bv mid-1975 things will pick up. Certainly here in this Valley, despite weakness in some areas of our farm economy, we can also see some strong areas, and overall we are in good shape. Tragedy struck our community last June in the disasterous school fire, and now as we enter 1975 we can plan for their rebuilding. School officials have come up with plans and a bond issue proposal, and it remains for us in the community to support their efforts and get the job done. We live in a wonderful valley, without the disruptions of either severe economic disasters or unreasonable weather conditions. We will continue to have our ups and downs, but we will also continue to prosper When we get to thinking things are tough, we only have to read any newspaper to see how well off we really are. 1975 will be an exciting year for Nyssa. As we start to rebuild our schools, as we look forward to the strengthening of our sugar and cattle industry, and as we start to see the end of the inflation-recession period, we can be thankful that we live in God's favored land. Happy New Year! In The Bible Where to Look When everything seems to be going from bad to worse, try 2 Timothy 3. The best investment b described in St. Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 6. W hen »our friends seem to go back on yon, bold fast to I Corinthians 13. For an Inward peace, consider the 14th chapter of St. John’s Gospel. Fraget me not!
