GRANGE NEWS MR. AND MRS. HARRY MINER WILL BE HONORED at a reception in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Masonic Hall, 110 N. 3rd Street. Hosting the event will be their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Miner. The Miners spent the first 13 years of their marriage at Highmore, South Dakota, moving to Nyssa in Septem ber 1936 where they have since resided. All friends are cordially invited to attend. The request is “no gifts please.” Girls Stat« Tea Mrs. Cecil Smith To Be Held The Annual Girls State Tea. sponsored by the Ame rican Legion Auxiliary No. 79 of Nvssa will be held Saturday. June 1. at the Eag les Hall at 2 p.m. All Girls State Delega tes from the Adnan. On tario and Vale areas are invited to attend as well as other Auxiliary members. AU former delegates are also urged to be present Malheur Pomona Grange at Big Bend Grange Saturday evening. County De puty were escorted to the Master's Station. Six articles were entered in the sewing contest, two were sent to State Grange for judging at that level. Paulina Ross was elected as a delegate to represent Pomona Grange at the Grange Insurance meeting at State Grange Charles Witty was elected as alternate delegate for the Pomona Master at State Grange During the lecturer's hour, a memorial service was pre sented by Chaplain Dot Ni chols assisted by Clara Price and Shirleen Pearson Refreshments were served by the host grange. Mrs. Bill Nicholson joined them at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Sa- sage and family after gra- duation. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ha roldsen from Idaho Falls visited with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Harold- sen over the holiday. They were all dinner guests on Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orlee Sipes in Homedale.
