They bought no cows and keep all their young stock. With freshening heifers, they will be milking 80 cows by next January 1. Another outstanding feature of the LAM Farms is the management of crops raised on their 184 acres of irrigated land. Crops are alfalfa, corn and grain which goes to the milking herd and Holstein steers. Klaas and Dennis always get four cuttings of hay IXM is completely tied into good management prac tices. They were har nessed into a |>arachute and a speed boat attached to the parachute pulled them along the beach until they left the beach and sailed into the air along the shore up over the buildings. Some were 21 stories high. It was fun to watch. Tuesday was the day for a tour in a glass bottom boat. It was very beauti- ful and interesting to see many tropical fish in their natural settings. Boys on the boat dived along the way from a rock 75 feet high. The boat passed over the statue of the Virgin Guadulupe. It was made andplaced there by local fishermen. It is made of gold and silver. Lunch was served at Roqueta and later they went to Calita Beach. There was a barbe cue at the El Presidente Hotel that evening and the entertainment was the Fly ing Indians, who perform from a pole 114 feet in the air. Wednesday, Howard went deep sea fishing. He caught a sail fish that was over ten feet long and weighed 135 pounds. The other en joyed a shopping tour to the New Farmers Market, the Flea Market and other down town stores. The vendors the street were most chal lenging and one certainly did learn how to bargain. Later they toured a night club, the famous Makumbi Club, authentic African atmosphere and entertainment. The next stop was El Fuerte, the major attraction here was the Spa nish Flemenco dancers. The tour ended at the LaQuebrada. A farewell party and dinner dance at the hotel completed the evening. AKH EXTENSION The AKH Home Extension Study group met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Klaas Laan. There were twelve members and two guests, Mrs. Jerry Conant and Mrs. Betty White present. Pro ject leaders were Mrs Alice Conant and Mrs. BiliToomb. The lesson was on the "Various Uses of Potatoes. Next meetingwillbeaChnst- mas party at the home of Mrs. Myron Osborn. Glen Brown Honored At Open House Glen Brown was honored for his community service, at an open house, Thursday evening, December 6 at the Adrian School Cafeteria. Glen has served as District #61 Clerk of Adrian Schools for 20 years. Approximately 50 neigh bors and friends attended the affair. Also present was Journal Classifieds Bring Results! Postmaster Named his son, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brown and son; and daugh ters, Mr. and Mrs. Pat (Jean) Patrick of Boise, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Ruby) Eastman of Caldwell. Glenn Ward, superinten dent, presented Mr. Brown »ith a plaque in honor of his 20 year service on the School Board. Mrs. Elaine Waldner has been installed as postmaster for Ola, Idaho. A native of Parma, who now lives in Ola, she won the appointment under merit se lection procedures of the Postal Service. Mt. and Mrs. Hugh Pierce of Boise entertained Sunday with a birthday dinner tor the anniversaries of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Smith of Ontario Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and Gary and Mr and Mrs. Roy Wild of Nyssa. On Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Helen Wilson,NellCor- rell, Lizzie Sells, Ruth Fritts, Paulene Boston and F rances Smalley helped Mrs. Luella Breneman celebrate a birthday anniversary by taking a birthday cake andvi siting her at the Ontario nursing home______________ Mr. and Mrs. Rex Nichols and family were Sunday din ner guests of Mr and Mrs. Leland Fox at Boise.
