Mrs. Cora Rookstool at tended tiie Merry Matrons Christmas luncheon at the Twilight Cafe, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rook stool attended the 50th Wed ding Anniversary open house at the Oregon Trail Grange Hall Sunday afternoon for Mr. and Mrs. Russell Howell of Cow Hollow Mr. and Mrs. Buell Cle ments of New Plymouth were Sunday visitors and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Honev and family of Boise and Mrs. Geo. Grif fin were Sun. dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Honey. Mr. and Mrs. Amador and son Bobby were Wednesday evening visitors, Roy Edmon son of Ontario was a Thurs. Delta Kappa Gamma The November meeting of Delta Kappa Gamma was a no-host dinner held at the Starlight Cafe in Vale. There were 37 present from Nyssa, Adrian, Vale and Ontario. Dons Simpson, president, conducted the meeting and then turned it over to Elaine Nelson and Mary Frahm who conducted the initiatory cere mony of two new members, Mrs. Harriet Brownlee of W illow Creek andMargareta Leslie of Ontario. Maude C ooper gave a very interesting demonstration on planting fall bulbs and then presented bulbs wrapped in pretty Christmas paper for sale. The money is to be used in the general fund of the Chapter. Joy Me Partland and Do rothy Wilson both of Nyssa, gave a demonstration andex- plained to the new members what the key and emblem stood for. The next meeting will be a Christmas party, December 22, at Ontario. ORDER OF . EASTERN STAR Golden Rule Chapter OES met December 3 at the Ma sonic Hall, Worthy Matron Amelia Pratt presiding. All the officers were present. Good of Order in charge was Worthy Patron, Roy Hol mes, who introduced Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wickline, from Sweet Home Chapter #164, Sweet Home. Rose Willis had charge of Fall Birth days and an addendum for fifteen members was given by Associate Matron, Con ductress, Assoc late Conduc tress, Rose Willis, Nora Gra ham and Myra Atherton. Each presented a rememberance and the remaining members sang Happy Birthday. Chairman of the bazaar, Myrtle Sasser thanked all who helped Saturday with the mini bazaar. Next meet ing will be the Christmas party with gift exchange, Dec ember 19. $ BRIDGE ACTIVITIES Mrs. Herb Fisher hosted the Thurs. Afternoon Bridge Club, Nov. 29. Miss Mantha La throp of N.N.C, who gave a missionary talk at the Na- r arene Church that morning, Mrs. Mabel Fox and Gary Seward of N.N.C. Mrs. Lena Leigh atten ded the Winter Wonderland Parade at Ontario on Sat. with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brestiears. Mrs. Arnold Hamilton of Eugene. Oregon visited Sun. thru Wed. with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knox last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knox received a phone call Thurs. evening telling them their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Knox of Grand view had just returned from a two-week trip by plane to Guam and Hawaii, when they visited a daughter and fa mily, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Swanson. He is in the ser vice and stationed at Guam Mrs. Larry Miller was a hostess Monday evening for a Tupperware party. Mrs. Sharon Cahill and daughters of Boise and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Collins and family were Thanksgiving Day guests of Mr and Mrs. Fay Collins. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Col lins spent Saturday and Sun day in Boise with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Collins and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Terry Soper and seen their new great nephew. GRANGE NEWS Approximately 60 Grange members met Thursday eve ning, November 29, at Ore gon Trail Grange Hall for installation of Officers of four Malheur County Gran- ges. The ceremony was under the direction of County De puty Dale Teter who was assisted by Installing Mas ter Wesley Richmond, Cleta deBoer, Marshall; Buelah Teter, Regalia Bearer, Wil liam Andregg. Emblem Bearer, Judy Andregg, Musician, and John deBoer. Chaplain Masters installed were lra Price, Oregon Trail, Orville Nichols, Vale, Leo Tschida. Ontario Heights Grange. State Deputy Robert C oble encouraged each member to attend Grange meetings and to join in all activities. Pomona Master Ross Har vey stated that now is the time for Subordinate Gran gers to get resolutions to Pomona and State Grange if they feel there should be changes in legislative and government orders and po licies. He stated that the Grange voice can tie heard through National Grange,but it is up to the members to make their wishes known Master lra Price expres sed the appreciation of all the officers to the Installing team for a job well done. The meeting was closed with the new officers closing the Bible and retiring the flag Potluck lunch was served after the meeting. Happy Dozen Club I he Happy Down Card Club met Friday afternoon with Elsie Diven in Nyssa. Dons Castor was guest player. Winners were Sue Ashcraft, Goldie Roberts, Gnetty Piercy, and Minnie Siam. A DECEMBER 7 WEDDING IN THE: Ogden Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple is being planned by Irene Dssing of Vale and Dsn Haney of Nyssa Miss Ussing Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ussing Haney is the son of Mr and Mrs. Robert Haney_______ _________ Student* Home For Holidays Rod and Craig Lewis were home for the Thanksgiving holidays. They are both stu dents at Brigham Young Uni- versity at Provo, Utah. Rod is on a ROTC full scholarship He lias been selected to be in the Color Guard unit His unit re cently led the big Christmas Parade m Salt Lake City and Rod carried the flag of Utah The parade was tele vised. C raig recently completed a two year mission for the LDE Church in London,Eng land. Prior to coming home he was called to tie an assis tant to the president of the mission and assumed that role for three months Mrs Dorthea Mitchell met her son Craig Lewis in England and they toured Germany, France, Switzerland, Bel gium and England before re turning home together Oc tober 1 Craig entered Brigham Young University on the “Block Plan" inmidsemes ter Dr. Moulding Now At Home Dr. L. A. Mauldlng is now home, after a lengthy stay in the hospital in Boise where he was recovering from a heart attack According t<> Mrs Mauld- ing, he is doing very well and may have visitors.
