Seventy-five girls between the ages 8 and 17, and ten tea cher coaches attended a gym nastics workshop held last Saturday at Treasure Valley Community College. All area junior and senior high schools were invited to send teams for six hours of training under Rod Ostow, Richland, Washington gymnastics coach Mr. Ostow and members of his team covered both begin ning and intermediate moves in film and demonstration. In addition, he instructed the girls in exercise and condition ing. With the participants di vided into groups, the instruc tors took them through all five events: floor exercise, vault- ting, balance beam, uneven pa rallel bars, and trampoline Workshop coordinator, Nicki Pierce, was pleased with the attendance and with the enthu siasm displayed by the girls. On the basis of this success she hopes to stage another workshop in the spring. There are many excitedchll- dren who have prepared the pro gram for the assembly.
