Nyssa Football Team Starts To Shape Up Ask one of the Nyssa High School football coaches about this year’s football team and he just might stoop down and pluck a blade of grass to use in il lustrating his answer. “Small and Green,” were the two words used by the va rious squad coaches earlier this week as they discussed how the Nyssa Bulldogs were looking af ter their second week of prac tice in pads. “We’ll be a fairly light eleven,” said Art Bullock, head coach. “This means we won’t be three-yards and a cloud of dust as much; we hope to have a more wide-open bailgame.” Two weeks away, on Sep tember 7, the Nyssa squad will open their football season play ing Ontario at Ontario. The game will start at 8:00 p.m. and will be played on the On tario high school field. Bullock said the only things he’d heard about the Ontario team was that they’re "awfully big” and have a large number of returning lettermen. After two weeks of practice in pads, Bullock was starting to see things come together, "1 think we’re just about there with conditioning and, hopefully, in the next two weeks we’ll have our timing down." Bullock is an advocate of spe cialized coaching because "it gives the boys an opportunity to go to a specific coach with a problem, it makes it a little easier to be heard." line JERRY HUNTLEY, coach, says his line is "ter ribly small” this year. "They’re not afraid to stick their head in and get a bloody nose," said Huntley.
