On June 9, 16-year-old Cindy rode her registered quarter horse, Sammy Snip, to place in nine out of the ten events she entered in the Minidoka BOWLING LEAGUES START IN SEPT The rules committee of the Monday Night Patriots League have set Monday, September 10 as the first night of their Lea gue Bowling for the coming season at a meeting Wednes day evening at the home of Eris Bertram, president. I W rangler Horse Show in Rupert Wrangler Horse Show in Rupert, Idaho. For her showing, Cindy »as awarded the American Quarter Horse Association "all-around youth” trophy. Later in the summer, on July 14, she was crowned Frontier Rodeo Queen tor Pocatello’s rodeo. It was the first time, her parents said, that anyone under 18 had won the title. Also, in between the above honors, she was runner-up in American Falls for the Spring Rodeo Queen. Cindy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Darrel Sawyer and was Pee-wee Rodeo Queen in 1971 and was Nyssa Night Rodeo Queen in 1972. Earlier this year the Sawyers moved to American Falls when Darrel became manager of a cattle company there. Cindy has been riding for 13 years and most of her riding time for the past 5 years has been on Sammy Snip, Sammy was rough broke for her. but all of his training beyond that, accord ing to her parents, has been handled by Cindy. This September Cindy is a junior at American Falls High School.
