Pag* Twelve Th« Nyssa Gat« City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon Thursday, July 12, 1973 Nyssa Swimmers Prepare For Meet "Everybody into the pool'" This cry is being heard around Nyssa’ Municipal Swimming Pool with increasing feeling as the Nyssa swimming team works to get ready for their first home meet of the summer. The meet is scheduled for July 17, this coming Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m. There are USDA CHOICE FULL CUT GROUND STEA plenty of seats for interested sports fans and swimming coach Mary Ann Dority hopes that a good crowd will turn out to urge the Nyssa swimmers on to their first vic tory of the summer. About 50 area youngsters are members of this year’s summer team and they plan plenty of action for Tuesday’s meet. Left front - Julie Anderson Paula Saito TVCC Program Offers Summer Softball The TVCC Summer Recrea tion Program will start soft- ball July 16 at 9:00 a.rn. in the South Park. Any boy or girl that wishes to play is wel come to participate. Sign up will be held Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. Bowling will be held in the afternoon from 1 30 - 3 30 p. m. starting July 23 for two weeks. Babe Ruth Players Compete In Regionals Teams from the lower Snake River Valley participated this past week, July 7-10, in the Re gional 13-year-old Babe Ruth Tournament at Enterprise. All 13-year-olds from this area’s Babe Ruth teams com peted at a special tryout and the top players were named to one of three teams which made the trip. SRV number one, however, entered the finals after defeat ing Baker and Redmond. In the first championship game, the team lost to Baker 4 to 2 and had to play a second round because both teams had one loss.
